Hindsight being 20/20 I suppose they could have run multi track, subsidized express rail/metro rail right up the middle of 95, branching off at 495 into Tysons, and Crystal City (with commuter lots at termination points in the burbs), instead of hot lanes, and the Silver line to Dulles??? I have that thought about a lot of the clogged straight shot highways around here, like 66. I think we would all be in much better shape if there was a willingness and demand for cheaper/faster alternatives to sitting in bumper-to-bumper traffic.

We are talking about 15 to 20-mile commutes that take over an hour by car because there is no faster/cheaper or even comparable alternative. [/quote]
