Curious to see what he will do for VA public schools. The top 5 states for public schools are all blue states, well VA no longer blue. https://worldpopulationreview.com/state-rankings/public-school-rankings-by-state
Youngkin can at least help reverse the travesty visited on TJ and the Governors School.
Read a bit more about TJ. I have a kid there who came in under the "old" application system. I have another kid who would come in under this new system, but I doubt he'll make it. I think it is harder now. You need to be at the top of your own school. The fact that it opened for more schools than just the McLean feeding MS is a good thing. Bad for my kid though.
I have one TJ grad, one who entered under the old application, and one who will enter next year. I know a good bit about the school, including that Longfellow isn’t the only middle school that preps kids for TJ. The western part of Fairfax attracts more parents whose children have the intellect to excel under both the old and new systems. TJ will just be like many other public high schools: there will be a two tier system fir those who belong there and another for those who do not.
