I’m a totally DP, but why are you so steadfastly offended by the fact that people are *gasp* discussing things on a discussion board? Must everyone have the same opinion as you? You are strangely defensive about Kate, which is what other people are pointing out. She’s not your friend... she is a public figure. I think Kate is lovely. Her hair is always perfectly bouncy, and she always seems in control. But, I agree she isn’t working up to the standards that should be expected of her role, and I also think she (and her parents) have had their eye on that role for her long before she met Wills.
I'm not offended at all. I'm fascinated that people like you are so invested in royals figures (which are in a whole 'nother class of celebrity). Not 'working up to the standards that should be expected of her role'? What the hell does that mean? Her role is whatever she and her family decides that is. Why are you so insistent that you should have any expectations in that regard? I'm serious. So what if she and/or her family of origin desired a match with a royal? Don't we all have dreams and desires? How is that different than anyone else identifying what traits they wanted in a life partner? Certainly, there are plenty of postings on DCUM about what people look for in a spouse. Kate certainly brought enough 'assets' to the relationship for William and it seems their relationship is mutually beneficial. Both sides got what they wanted. If you're going to be pissy, be pissy at William and his family for not meeting your expectations in his choice of a spouse and the role they chose for her.
