I was at the meeting as well. They way I heard it, they are more OFFENDED at the fact that the ability, should they decide on a random Tuesday at 3pm to go to Maryland (where they don't already with any consistency) that this right will be taken away. The reason you cite above was listed in the presentation by those in opposition, not specifically those in affected neighborhoods, as "use it to get to work or have children in Private School in Maryland." What was actually voiced at the meeting seemed more along the lines of "You're taking my privilege away."

You're correct that it seems counterintuitive. I do, however, wonder what the POSITIVE effect on the neighborhoods in that area will be, while the neighborhoods that will now become cutthroughs will obviously see negatives during the Pilot.

As they clearly stated in the meeting, the most frustrating part of this - the Legion Bridge and the Maryland side - isn't going to see any change anytime soon. That we can all agree on.[/quote]
