Kirkwood by ASF is a four-lane commuter cut-through from Washington Blvd. to Lee Highway and Spout Run. Sycamore is a two-lane road from some neighborhoods to Lee Highway and 66. It is not a "much more major road" than Kirkwood.[/quote]

Nope, past YMCA it is single lane road, albeit it is divided with a wide bike lane, so maybe that is why you are confused? But crosswalk to ASFS would have a pedestrian island between lanes. [/quote]

But no traffic light. Sycamore has a traffic light by Tuckahoe to help with the traffic control.
