Unless a parent is abusive, I generally don't understand when the kid gets a say in the visitation.  If the parents weren't divorced, the kid would generally HAVE to be in the presence of the parents.  My teens get irritated with my husband and me and vice-versa, but because we all have to live together so we have to keep working things out.  [/quote]

DP  I think this is common.  Remember Maddox was adopted by Jolie when she was married to Billy Bob.   It is apparent he is closer to Jolie. I think it is normal for 17 year olds to get to decide if he wants to spend time with Brad.  As it should be.[/quote]
