Manor Woods Pool is advertising this event on their Facebook page, via a flyer that says “Calling All Barnsley Families” A question was asked as to whether the event was open to non pool members. The individual who responded by saying that non members must pay the guest fee and be accompanied by a member also manages Barnsley’s PTA Facebook page. This is all public. Check it out for yourselves. Again, this is a very poorly thought out PTA event that does nothing to build community. Shame on you Barnsley PTA for working as an insiders club. This needs to not only be brought to the attention of the administration but also to MCCPTA. Barnsley PTA should change course and host this event at the school playground so all can attend.
So why not send a note to the PTA President with a cc to the Principal and ask the President point blank if this event is being sponsored or funded by the PTA.
Nothing like the poor parents tattling on the PTA. I am sure that will turn out well for you and your kids.
How is it tattling for a parent to ask the PTA whether an event is being sponsored or funded by the PTA?
It is tattling to attempt to get the principal to apply pressure to the pta president. You’re rationalizing if you look at it any other way. MYOB
PTA pres at a different school here. The. purpose of copying the Principal is to inform him that this event is raising some questions around the community and that if it is a PTA or a school event, then it is completely inappropriate. The principal and the PTA president are responsible for ensuring that events sponsored by the PTA or the school are inclusive.
