NP. If they are IB for Shepherd or Hyde they better list those schools, instead of those where they have no chance of getting in. If they don't, they'll get in nowhere.

I'd think posting your list on this thread is tantamount to asking for opinions. And I'd also assume that they give their full list, but maybe they don't. It just seems pointless to list schools that are absolutely impossible to get in OOB, even if the list has less than 12 and it doesn't cost anything. And what if the PP isn't aware it's impossible? Maybe pointing it out to them will prompt them to add some schools that can actually serve as backups to their IB? You'd be surprised to see how many people play the lottery without even understanding the basics of it.[/quote]

NP. You sound unhinged. I know lottery season can be stressful. It's ok. Chill and have a glass of wine. You asked a rhetorical question (like "what are you thinking?"). Fact is, you could have asked clarifying questions. Fwiw, our lottery list looks almost identical. We are at a HRCS that we LOVE but may move WOTP soon so decided to play a free lottery ticket (knowing it will be a dud). No harm, no foul.[/quote]

NP here, I don't think she sounds unhinged.  Perhaps you are reading way to much into the posters words.  Sounds like you are taking the lottery a bit seriously yourself.

Funny that PP came back to say she was IB for Eaton afterall so un-hinged's berating and unsolicited "advice" was for nothing. All she has to do from the start was ask a clarifying question like "are you IB to any of those?"[/quote]

DP. If anyone sounds unhinged, it's you. And why does it matter that PP is IB for Eaton? The question whether it makes sense to list schools that don't take anyone OOB for Pre-K is still a valid one. Even if they did, she'd get into Eaton before she got into any of the ones she listed below, because she'd need a stellar lottery number to snatch an improbable OOB spot. So yeah, I'd wonder if there was any thought behind this list.[/quote]
