Because the woman had no choice in the case of rape and incest. And in the case of she chose to have sex--chose to engage in the activity that CAUSES pregnancy, and chose not to use protection--well, then this is the result of her choices. Don't want to fail out of college? Go to class, study, turn in the work. You may still fail, but at least you did everything you could not to. Don't want to have your possessions to be stolen? Lock your doors and windows, and get a security system. You may still be robbed, but you took reasonable precautions against it. Don't want to have a baby? Use protection. You may still get pregnant, but at least you took reasonable measures against it.
So exactly what 13:50 said, it's about punishing women for having sex.
Nope. Have all the sex you want. But practice safe sex. COME ON. We wear seatbelts in cars. No, that doesn't guarantee our safety, but you do what you can. And when you don't, yes, there are consequences.
Well, to use your analogy, we all know the natural consequences to not wearing your seat belt - if you get into a car accident, you may be injured or killed. What you seem to be suggesting is that certain people (i.e. you, lawmakers, Joe Schmo down the street) should be able to dictate to someone what her, yes only her, consequences should be based on your belief system. People, yes people, who have unprotected sex get to decide what the "consequences" are, or let's say outcomes, shall we? - an unplanned baby or an abortion. That's their choice. It's not your position to shame them. It's their choice, all the way through.
