I just moved into DC from MD recently, and I'm really impressed with how DC handles voting. Once I'd registered, I was able to sign up for automatic absentee vote-by-mail for every election. DC will just mail me a ballot a few weeks before each election, and I send it back. I can check online to confirm they received my ballot. Worked like a charm for the primary. Seems like a great system. Eventually we will all shift to online voting, once we get past the political issue of one party wanting to depress turnout, but this is a good interim step.[/quote]
