That is not perfect, but does a pretty good job. However, it doesn't track users. I have looked at IP address for much of the day for over 10 years. I can instantly recognize Verizon, Comcast, RCN, etc. addresses because they are so frequently used. If someone has an address from outside those networks, I notice it. If I notice the same address over and over, the user becomes familiar to me. After the fact -- for instance if I catch someone trolling or sock puppetting, I can frequently get a decent history of their posts, but not always. [/quote]
