Guys, why mock a poster who's probably just a confused first-time voter? I don't know about any of you, but voting in my first election felt like it was supposed to be some sort of momentous BIG DEAL. Just reassure OP that there will be plenty of time for them to vote, and that there are even alternatives for voting on an earlier day or by mail. The exam will not get in the way of anyone's ability to vote. It's fine.
+1. And she's probably not even reading this anymore. To those judging and mocking the OP, what does this say about your generation? Kudos to her for voting. I didn't vote during college because I went away for school and didn't think about absentee ballots until it was too late (and barely paid attention to the news).
I'm the quoted poster. I also skipped a few years of voting during college, same reason. The logistics can be weird at first. Besides, is the way people on this thread have treated OP the way we would be proud to see our teen or young adult children interacting with others online? If not... hmm.
