I don't find it offensive, as I've had plenty of face-to-face encounters with gypsies. They are all over Europe, and when I visit family and friends in Italy, they are always begging. Europeans are not tolerant of them, nor should they be. Able-bodied folks who beg in the streets and who train their children to follow in their footsteps don't deserve respect.
