Denouncing something is simply a gesture. So what?
Because a failure to denounce is viewed as acceptance. It is really not hard to say that you condemn anti-Semitic attacks. It is telling that no Trump supporter here will do so.
Obama ran in some circles where there was a lot of antisemitism(or so people say). When the right shouted for him to denounce these people he did not. You have been called antsemitic on this board. Should Bernie or Clinton denounce you? The problem with spinning your opponent into a monster is when the lights come on and he is a rational person, you lose credibility. Trump has a long history in NY. He has never been call antisemitic. Bernie has not really denounced the voilence in Nv or the Bernie bros, do you hold him to the same standards as Trump? Don't take this the wrong way...but you need to take a break for politicals...just turn of the TV, do not read the blogs, etc for the weekend. Everyone will be fighting about the same stuff on Monday and nothing will have changed.
I have been called an anti-Semitic and also attacked for being Jewish. I am not Jewish and I would argue that I am also not anti-Semitic. You are comparing accusations of anti-Semitism to actual acts of anti-Semitism. However, if I made a documented anti-Semitic attack on anyone, I would expect it to be denounced by anyone to whom it mattered. Sanders has no idea who I am, but if he was asked to denounced a documented anti-Semitic attack by me, I would expect him to denounce it as a matter of course. Indeed Obama condemned anti-Semites that announced support for him. Sanders has denounced violence and disassociated himself from it. It is funny that you bring up violence at political events given how Trump has encouraged exactly that. It is simply amazing that every Trump supporter in this thread has failed to criticize even in the slightest terms the blatant anti-Semitism that has been displayed on multiple occasions by Trump supporters. Like Donald and Melania Trump who seem comfortable with such supporters. you do as well. This is very disturbing.
