In many states, adoption is reserved for a child already born and not an embryo or even a fetus. In many states, the legal transfer of ownership of embryos is deemed a property transfer as it is not considered a child. The legal paperwork in that state follows the laws for property transfer and not the laws for child adoption. While there are some states that do follow adoption laws, most do not. So, for accuracy, it should be called embryo donation.[/quote]
