Actually you should use the term embryo donation. In many states, adoption is reserved for a child already born and not an embryo or even a fetus. In many states, the legal transfer of ownership of embryos is deemed a property transfer as it is not considered a child. The legal paperwork in that state follows the laws for property transfer and not the laws for child adoption. While there are some states that do follow adoption laws, most do not.

So, for accuracy, it should be called embryo donation.

I'm sure she's not trying to shut down an abortion clinic by looking for an embryo to adopt. (Buy? I mean, what the hell else would you call it from her perspective?)

By the way, embryos =/= sperm or eggs. Anyone who has faced infertility knows that the hard way. So PP who made that comparison is being intentionally obtuse.

I dont know if this would work for you, but my friend just went through egg donor and sperm donor through SG (and their shared cycle).
If you are having problems finding an embryo with the ethnis background you want, this might expand the possibilities.

I think it will be hard finding that, and you'll just have to look at all the embryo donation / adoption sites. There is also a group called Miracles Waiting. You could try California Conceptions, but they divide up available embryos among several families, so you would have to find two others that also wanted that descent.

Question is not what it is called. Question is if anyone knows about embryos donated by couples of Asian Indian origin.

It's a politicized term. We are looking to donate our embryos when we are sure we are finished having children. It's a reasonably safe bet that websites facilitating "embryo adoption" are pro-life and are ultimately - and usually explicitly - anti-IVF. Have a look at the snowflakes website. We refer to it as embryo donation, and we would only donate to someone who sees this as a donation. The recipients, by the way, are just that - recipients.

+1 for the term, embryo donation. Embryo adoption is not the right way to phrase it, as cute as you may think it sounds. This concept walks a VERY fine line that brings up all kinds of "personhood" issues.

One of my friends discovered this place and met with an RE while out there on vacation. She was impressed and found the price w/money back guarantee to be reasonable (much less than donor egg). She hasn't started the process yet so i can't comment on CC.

There is also a large clinic in NY (forgot name) with a embryo adoption program. I recall that the clinic posted embryos available each month on its website including ethnicity of the couple.

Columbia will handle receiving and managing an embryo for adoption/implantation. That wasn't my route but it was for someone else going through them at the same time I was cycling. She drove down from Baltimore for her cycle because Columbia was one of the only clinics that would handle it (that was a couple of years ago - things might have evolved since then.)
