http://wtop.com/local/2016/02/d-c-baltimore-city-among-most-dangerous-places-in-u-s/ DC ranks #5 in the country in the number of violent crimes, defined as one of four offenses: murder and nonnegligent manslaughter, rape, robbery, and aggravated assault. It's not just perception, DC actually is physically dangerous. How is the city going to address this?
Where have you been? DC has ALWAYS been a dangerously violent city. The late 80's/90's, when drugs were poured into our neighborhoods, were a living hell. The city is now facing the repercussions of this war on drugs with some DC youth running wild, many with incarcerated mothers/fathers.
This is possibly a dumb question but what do you mean by drugs poured into the neighborhoods?
In the mid-80s DC was the central distribution point for crack, powder cocaine and pot. It was everywhere, literally. At that point, DC became the murder capital of the country. Mostly, it was gang turf war and drive by shootings, but a lot of innocent bystanders were killed as well.
You're not explaining it all if you don't reference who it was being poured by.
