Baltimore looks to offer DC some stiff competition this time around. Not sure we can keep up.

Where have you been? DC has ALWAYS been a dangerously violent city. The late 80's/90's, when drugs were poured into our neighborhoods, were a living hell. The city is now facing the repercussions of this war on drugs with some DC youth running wild, many with incarcerated mothers/fathers.
This is possibly a dumb question but what do you mean by drugs poured into the neighborhoods?
In the mid-80s DC was the central distribution point for crack, powder cocaine and pot. It was everywhere, literally. At that point, DC became the murder capital of the country. Mostly, it was gang turf war and drive by shootings, but a lot of innocent bystanders were killed as well.
You're not explaining it all if you don't reference who it was being poured by.

Yes! I remember running red lights at night in DC so I wouldn't get carjacked. My cousin got car jacked (stopped at a light).

I'm the pp. I definitely remember and it was a terrifying time. Not to mention the violent crime associated with stealing Jordans and Eddie Bauer coats.

It was not literally everywhere. In 1985 I lived in a house around the corner from where Rose's Luxury is now, and there was no crack in my house; also no powder cocaine; also no pot.
