It's not that far off, to be honest; at least for undergraduate greek life.

In Florida, the U of Miami is widely perceived as a school for rich kids from out-of-state (typically the Northeast) who drive BMWs, wear designer clothing, pop oxycodone and/or cocaine and move back to New Jersey upon graduation.

Actual Floridians go to UF, FSU, UCF or USF.

I agree.  And it has a Law School and a Medical School on campus, so if you walk around its a very diverse environment in every sense of the word.  Its a good school for getting internships since there are lots of bug company that make Miami their headquarters for the Americas and there are few good universities in southern Florida.  You daughter's friends may have hit a blip   i.e. lots of female applicants form this area.[/quote]
