To further complicate the math, assume that these are men who are very successful with these women because they are more appealing (at least more appealing than the husband they are cheating on) than other men so they are likely to have had sex with multiple married women.  This further debunks the simplistic idea that for each cheating spouse there is a cheating spouse of the opposite sex so it's a 50/50 split.

Agreed. Adding to your algorithm, prostitutes/escorts, massage parlors and the fact that some married men also maintain multiple non sex worker married or single women APs at the same time. I think most women chase the love affair -- serial monogamish relations on the side. All in all, I'd bet that more men cheat given the variety of more socially acceptable cheating options for men. Married women risk a lot -- becoming a modern Hester Prynne.[/quote]
