Agree with all this. Panel appliances just look "suburban mom".  Or alternatively, far too modern (where you have flat panel floor to ceiling cabinets, no hardware and no visible appliances).  And matching appliances to me scream that the kitchen was done on a budget, i.e. they bought the package rather than buying the best appliance in each category.  [/quote]

I didn't say panel screamed "budget".  I said matching appliances scream budget. Like, the GE appliance set. Or the Whirlpool appliance set. If i saw a kitchen with all Wolf appliances (does wolf make dishwashers?) in all seriousness, i would assume a woman with new money but little experience in the kitchen who worried about what others thought about her was swayed that way by a designer.  I am probably wrong, but that's just where my mind would go![/quote]

No. I would assume you either cooked, or had money and were directed to those by a decorator.  But if you had a subzero fridge, wolf range, and a dishwasher, hood, microwave, and whatever other random appliance -- all made by wolf/subzero (if those exist - I don't know), I would assume you were a sucker who didn't get personally involved in the appliance decisions.
