Yes, I was a little surprised. I vaguely remember learning that when I renovated my first 4 years ago -- but didn't bother to remember because they get such hideous reviews that I had zero interest. I'm a real cook, so opted to go another better direction.

No. I would assume you either cooked, or had money and were directed to those by a decorator. But if you had a subzero fridge, wolf range, and a dishwasher, hood, microwave, and whatever other random appliance -- all made by wolf/subzero (if those exist - I don't know), I would assume you were a sucker who didn't get personally involved in the appliance decisions.

Sorry, this sounds like it doesn't go together at all to me, no idea why you didn't just panel the dishwasher to match the cabinets. Great if you like it, but it would bug me a lot in a house I was looking to purchase. You could have also paneled the fridge. We paneled the fridge and dishwasher for our kitchen remodel with a stainless stove and hood (same company so the finish/undertones match).

I'm the PP with the white dishwasher. Yes, love induction. We had put in induction a few years ago when we lived out of state in a gas-less house, and loved it. Really love it now, esp that the prices have come way down. It's just so ridiculously easy, quick and consistent.
On the dishwasher, we didn't do a panel because that looks a little, well, over matched to our liking. And lots of people complaining panels look too 80s. We live in the city and i think people respond to a bit more of a modern styling, rather than the big, over designed sububan kitchen look than many people on here channel. We did ikea white gloss cabinets and this Bosch dishwasher:

They all confirmed it was not 80s mottled style, but couldn't confirm much beyond that. It is a sleek front, but not quite as glossy as gloss cabinets. It looks really good.
