No offense, but you didn't research this before you bought the house? It doesn't matter how close you are to Timber Lane-you are zoned for Pine Spring. They just rearranged boundaries in that area so don't expect anything to change for the foreseeable furture.
I did do my research and Pine Spring seems like a nice school that's why we bought here. I was just wondering the difference since its literally a 5 minute walk away from us so it would be easier for our nanny to pick up that's all. Just curious! But good to know about the boundaries, I was looking on FCPS's website to learn more about the future plans and can't seem to find anything.
NP here. The boundary changes that the prior poster was referring to were adopted in 2011 and affected a number of schools in the Falls Church/Annandale area when Mason Crest (referred to as Lacey in the planning stages) was opened. You can find the details here: http://www.fcps.edu/fts/planning/annandalestudy/regional/index.shtml It does seem unlikely that there will be changes in that area soon, and Lee Highway is the dividing line between Pine Spring to the south and Timber Lane and Shrevewood to the north. But you never know.
