Considering moving to the neighborhood and would live any recent experience. TIA!

I don’t have any personal experience with Pine Spring but I live in the ‘hood and my neighbors seem to rave about it. I’ve talked to a few families who have kids there and speak highly of the teachers and principal. This question was also posed on our neighborhood forum Next Door and lots of people chimed in with positive comments. This summer there was a neighborhood pre-kindergarten playdate hosted by one of the families. There also seems to be a lot of younger families moving into the area (by younger I mean hipsters) engaging in the community. As far as test scores, Great Schools rates it a 5 this year, which is better than subsequent years and on the upswing. You can compare that number with other area schools like Freedom Hill/Shrevewood/Cunningham Park .
Like I said I don’t have any personal experience- my kids have not entered school yet.

Anyone here with updated information about this school?

I did do my research and Pine Spring seems like a nice school that's why we bought here. I was just wondering the difference since its literally a 5 minute walk away from us so it would be easier for our nanny to pick up that's all. Just curious!

NP here. The boundary changes that the prior poster was referring to were adopted in 2011 and affected a number of schools in the Falls Church/Annandale area when Mason Crest (referred to as Lacey in the planning stages) was opened. You can find the details here:

It does seem unlikely that there will be changes in that area soon, and Lee Highway is the dividing line between Pine Spring to the south and Timber Lane and Shrevewood to the north. But you never know.

They are pretty comparable. There is a portion of timber lane that feeds into McLean.

We just bought a house zoned for Pine Spring but we are actually closer to Timber Lane. How do they compare? We are still a few years from elementary but just wanted to know where I can find out the latest on FCPS and their plans for the future. We moved from Arlington, where there's A LOT going on with the schools and all of their overcrowding issues.
