WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU? Be an adult. Either pick up the phone and explain the situation to SIL, or ask DH to do so.

And by the way, it's not about what YOU are comfortable with/think is right, at is is not. your. house. If your MIL thinks this is all fine, then guess what? It is. Because it is her house.[/quote]
