Did you not see semesters/quarters around the breaks. You all can have your free day to do your report cards. I wish I had a free day to write all my notes on my patients. You work 6 hours max with kids and within those 6 hours you get a lunch break and 1-2 other periods off. If you can't find more time during the day to do your report cards during before, or after those 6hrs then that is a time management issue on your part. But if you need your "teacher" day where 50% of the teachers show up to school then by all means, lets add it around the constant breaks/vacation/holidays you all get. Happy now?? Oh and your 6 minute "thorough" conferences once a year take up 2 whole days max. We will give that to you too.
Shorter PP: I am not a teacher, but I know how to be a teacher better than teachers do.
I'm not a teacher but think 90% of my kids teachers have been fabulous. We've had just 2 I didn't care for but I think even those teachers were working hard. It shocks me that there is so little respect for teachers. We have many teachers who email me on the weekend or in the evenings from home so I know they're working even on days off.
