In terms of DCI, the people I know whose kids are a year or two away from DCI are pretty nervous and are thinking about privates. It's not at its permanent location yet and given that that location is Walter Reed, permanent location may never pan out. Then there is the use of technology issue. We have a kid going into PK4 at a DCI feeder and we are not counting on it working out.  Our situation is that we live EOTP in a gentrifying neighborhood, so we figure we will stay for now and then could always move later if DCI does not pan out (and our place will have appreciated a lot in the interim).  But if we got into a great private and could afford it, we'd probably do that.  Otherwise, you may not be able to get into the private later.[/quote]
