Every semester I have smart students who write brilliant papers but who didn't read the books they didn't write on. They get Cs. This isn't going to change for him. He needs to do his homework. My husband works with brilliant computer coders who don't do documentation (it is tedious and boring); their careers stagnate. This isn't going to change for him.
