My friend's husband makes her do this three times a year, doesn't ask for reciprocal because after all she is (and we all are) the default caregiver. My husband never did this. We are divorcing; coincidence?
I wonder if she takes a lover on those trips.
NP here. My DH has offered a hotel night a couple of times ans I have never taken him Up on it unfortunately. Frankly, I am too tired and busy to contemplate a lover. A quiet dinner, some wine, a bad TV movie or a book, and a night of complete sleep... Sounds like geaven. I think the next time DH offers I will agree!
We have an 4 young kids including triplets. my DW's BD last year I booked her a hotel room and a day spa package for the next day. Didn't ask her, just told her after it was done and paid for with no refund possible. Got a baby sitter, took her to dinner and then plan was to just drop her at hotel w a goodnight kiss. But, she asked me to come upstairs lol. I gave (and got) some good lovin and went home. Picked her up around 2 the next day. She loved it but never would have asked for it or planned something like that for herself. She is awesome and deserved it
