It really didn't bother me at all. It was about $500 as I recall so that's a lot for another family to cover, and we have plenty of money. Part was because they were staying at a resort where everything was charged back to the room so it included things that my DC would have paid for herself. This family often invites friends and apparently that's what they always do. My DC got a fabulous vacation out of it so it all worked.
