I'm curious to know about my DS's GBRS. Someone has mentioned that it is available to parents AFTER school submits to the committee. Does anyone know when would be a good time to ask for the GBRS ?
Schools need to submit students' files by early March--I think the 5th or 6th. You should ask the AART after then to see your child's file, which of course will have the GBRS.
Also, some AARTs tell parents that they can't see the file until after the committee decision. Or if there's going to be an appeal, until after the appeal. THAT'S NOT CORRECT. If your AART won't let you see the file once it's gone to the AAP office, call the AAP office and tell them - 571-423-4740. They'll send a reminder out to the school that it's ok to release the file.
