I'm not interested in going through the mental exercise to try to explain this, but I will say our family's experience was that we were accepted in CM last year, off the wait list for 2nd grade by April and the first grade spot for the sibling followed probably a month later.  So we had been offered spots off the 2nd & 1 st grade wait list for the next year even before the current year ended (and yes, I realize our 1st grader got bumped up because of sibling preference.)  If you are willing and able to create a couple choices for your family (whatever that means to you) do not write off CM.  Situations change all the time, people move, etc.  Personally, every time I read something to the effect of "it would be unlikely those precious spots would be given up at an upper grade given the numbers of family committed....."  I laugh.[/quote]
