I can say that after reviewing the stats, although there were fewer spaces available for first, there was less competition for first grade. I did the percentages and it was much harder to get in for Pk3 even though there were more spaces because there were a lot more applicants.

How so. Are they adding a 1st grade class? Or growing the current one?

Do you have a sense of what the odds are for 3rd grade?
Last year's 3rd grade waitlist was 14, according to this:

Considering their PK3 waitlist went through at least 20, I would say those are good odds.
I would be shocked if they go through a waitlist of 14 for 3rd grade. If retention is good, they won't have many spots available.
I would disagree especially since CM isn't official thru 8th grade. So even 1 open spot can take calls to 8-9 people before they fill it. Speaking from experience.
Aren't they submitting their middle school application this year?

On the one hand, they're bound to lose students due to the move and the older grades don't get as many applicants so part of me thinks your chances would be good. On the other hand, I would imagine they would also have more applicants for the older grades than in previous years due to the fact they now have a permanent location. I agree with others that you should just rank your schools in true order of preference. If you like CM the best, rank it first. If not, don't.
