Let's explain it to the children who think we should be allied with Israel. Does Israel have any natural resources we need...no. Does Israel supply anything the U.S. needs...no. Does Israel by its continuing action against the Palestinians increase the appeal of jihadis...yes. Does our support of Israel harm our national interests....yes. Is Israel an outlaw nation but for our support of it in the UN...yes. In a pure self interest foreign policy analysis is Turkey, Iran, or Saudi our natural allies...yes. There is no reason for the U.S. to support Israel. The country does nothing for us and holds back a workable foreign policies. Add in Israel's human rights record and lack of ability to change anything on the ground in the region and its a clown show. And no the intelligence Israel supplies just supports their own interest to such a point that it is useless.[/quote]
