Pp who said I used my vista bassinet a lot for my summer baby. I think this is a good point. If you will do a lot of walking straight out your front door, you will get a lot more use out of the bassinet than if you are driving and then using the stroller. So, I'd recommend it for a summer baby in the city but probably not in other situations. [/quote]

I will second that the bassinet is worth it if you will be walking and not using the car much. I disagree with the summer qualification, my DC was born in December and we used the bassinet literally every day.  I found it great b/c it had room to add a blanket to keep DC warm etc and I could still go out and about around the city. I loved having DC sleep in it while i was out at a coffee shop, at a museum, or shopping etc.  We also used the bassinet when we traveled for DC to sleep in (overnight, naps etc). Its fits in the vista travel bag. That being said, if you will driving a lot and don't plan on traveling, this is definitely something you do not need. It was just a nice to have.  We never got much use out of the car seat we needed to bring DC home, but had to buy that one :) [/quote]
