Ha, well, my instincts were right on, then. I did do a grilled cheese for yesterday's lunch. But they didn't like it. But all it had on it was cheese, since one doesn't like mayonaise. Grilled cheese isn't as good after you've had it in your lunch box all morning. (Though when I did it on regular bread before, they did like it.)

These other things (the savory ones) sound great for me, but many are too complicated for a packed kid's lunch. For me. I'm no Martha Stewart. But I'll remember them for a lunch at home.[/quote]

Maybe they would like grilled cheese with a sundried tomato or olive tapenade or roasted red pepper spread? Depends on your kids, really! TJs makes a wonderful red pepper spread that the kids might like. And it would give a stronger flavor with the cheese to overcome the sourdough, I think. [/quote]
