I love being "in the sticks."  It beats being around kids showing half their ass.

On an academic note, parents are part of the problem with regard to SAT scores.  If it's not encouraged at home, schools can't force kids to try their best.  Furthermore, Sherwood isn't a pressure cooker.  The culture is very different from the atmosphere at a W school.  So yes, there's quite a bit of money in that area,  but the parents aren't necessarily pushing their kids to compete against one another.

I see nothing wrong with that.  I'd rather have a strong community with parental support that encourages kids to be well rounded.  Of course there are kids who shine. But they're not stabbing each other in the back to earn a spot.

This cluster is - IMO - one of the last feeder patterns that serves kids who fall w/in the middle to upper class range.  Remember that it's the middle class who keeps the rest afloat.  [/quote]
