Why is it so hard for dog owner to understand not everyone likes dogs? I don't want your dog getting near me. I don't think it is adorable for your dog to try and lick my toddler. I don't want to pet your dog. I don't want your dog to run up to me at full speed and stop 6 inches away from me. Keep your dog(s) leashed (near you not on a retractable 12+ foot leash) or on your property and no one will wave sticks at your dog.
+1 This tendency of treating dogs like human children is getting absurd. You don't need to take your dog with you everywhere you go, you should never let your dog go up to strangers (is it alright if I just come up and sniff you, or leap on you? No? The control your animal). I was on a run a week or two ago, and some dickwad's dog leaps towards me. I look back at the owner who thinks it's just so gosh darned adorable. Instead of being horrified that his animal is leaping at people just minding their own business, he thinks it's utterly cute. I don't hate dogs. I hate irresponsible, selfish dog owners.
