And if MIL were to attempt to insist, I would be more than happy to put her luggage in the car and drive her and dog to the nearest hotel that accepts dogs...or to the airport.  And otherwise, my MIL and I get along spendidly, but I'm not risking my wife's health over a dog.

She has never brought the dog and we've been in this house 8 years and married for 12.[/quote]
