However, if our DDs were very close friends, this incident would prompt me to try to have a discussion with you to pin down what your expectations are for a supervising adult when your DD is at someone's home because I would want to find out if your expectations were something I was comfortable meeting or whether I would have to decline to have your DD in my care in the future. Our expectations for supervision at this age seem vastly different.

She's your daughter so it's completely your business what you are comfortable with, but if I could give you a bit of advice, I would suggest (gently) that you try not to allow your worries to get in the way of your DD's growing independence and more importantly her willingness to have open conversations with you about what's going on in her life.[/quote]
