It's kind of crazy, because the grades are then not truly representative of the child's ability in the subject. [/quote] This is very true. It actually affects the other students and the teaching of the class. My dc was in an FCPS 7th grade Algebra class where many of the students reported having taken Algebra before (Kumon, CTY, tutors, etc). The teacher really didn't teach because he felt that everyone knew the material anyway, and the few who had not yet taken Algebra were struggling. [/quote]
