NP here. Is there a generational divide - bare legs for low-to-mid-level positions and hose for mid-to-upper-level positions?
I'd say it is more a literal generation divide -- ON AVERAGE (always exceptions to the rule) those in their 20s and early 30s do not wear them on a regular basis, some will wear them for interviews. Older than that it is much more common. Don't assume that millenials/younger Gen Xers aren't in higher level positions. They are. And many got there without wearing pantyhose. As for me, I never even thought about it. I'm 30. I've never worn them. Never had an issue and am a senior director at a nonprofit.
