"Honors classes at base middle schools are equivalent to honors classes at center middle schools - anyone can sign up for these classes. AAP classes, however, are different. From what I have read on this forum and on FCAG, AAP classes are at a somewhat higher level. Only level IV kids can take AAP classes and currently, in this pyramid, they are only offered at Rocky Run (from what I know)." it is true that there are three academic tracks at RR vs two at the base middle school. The AAP honors are considered a different track of study. AAP kids are automatically signe up for this track unless the parents want something different. The main difference that I see, is in the class pacing and in maths and availability. All the kids have the same electives opportunities like band, drama etc. The staff at RR is also more familiar with the "AAP" parent. I would say the staff at Lanier was not.
