Any tips? I feel like I'm consistently getting darker and the front and bottom. Is that just the more damaged hair absorbing more or am I just really bad at this? Also do I actually follow timing instructions or leave it on an extra 5-10 mins?
You should do your roots first so the dye has the most time to work there. Once your roots are done then apply color to the rest of your hair and let it process for whatever amount of time the directions say- over processing your hair only damages it. After you wash out the dye make sure you use shampoo and conditioner for color treated hair (I really like the nexus line). Also, if you ever mess up the color you can use super cheap shampoo to strip the color out of your hair.
