[/quote] Most girls I know have started puberty by 11 or 12, so they most likely will start hearing about sexual topics from their peers or even having to deal with hormones and the feelings they cause by around that age. I personally would want to have started talking about issues related to sex and relationships in an age appropriate way well before they are blindsided by their first crush, their period, their friends giving them bad information, or whatever. That doesn't mean giving graphic details, but explaining what sex is and that the lyrics mean the singer is having strong feelings for a boyfriend or girlfriend that mean she wants to do some things that are not really a good idea at her age seems reasonable to me. I think every parent has to decide when that type of discussion seems right for their own child.[/quote]
