[/quote] I've learned long ago not to try to guess other people's motives. Since there were other invited guests that ended up in the hallway, and technically if you could get there early you could get a decent size room, who knows what motivates MIL to play a game of musical chairs at the beach house where there are clearly not enough beds for the number of people.
