You are obviously not Catholic so please do not attempt to speak for us. Mary is NOT worshipped as a deity.  She holds a special place and is believed to be a saint who intercedes on our behalf (ie Holy Mother, pray for us).

Exactly.  I am Catholic, and the thrust of.our mass this past Sunday was waiting for the birth of Christ, not Mary.  We say thanks be to God and praise to you Lord Jesus Christ.  We sang O Come O Come Emmanuel.  Oddly enough, not one word about Mary other than to mention she was chosen as the mother of Christ as a poor peasant woman.  The whole homily was about Jesus.  We have one of our resident low information anti-Catholic bigots on here justifying their ignorance and hate with "Whatever.". Pathetic.  Learn about something before you spout uninformed opinions.[/quote]
