Mary is the most important deity for Catholics. Her Son, Jesus, is the most important for Christians.
You are obviously not Catholic so please do not attempt to speak for us. Mary is NOT worshipped as a deity. She holds a special place and is believed to be a saint who intercedes on our behalf (ie Holy Mother, pray for us).
Should have said "icon" or "figure" rather than deity, but whatever. She's definitely put on a pedestal, whether or not you want to call that worshipping.
Yeah, keep on justifying your prejudicial ignorance. There's a world of difference between a deity and a saint. Not that you know or care. Bigot.
I'm just curious: Do they actively teach rudeness in Sunday School? You need to spend some time with Scripture today and reflect on how you can be a better person. Start with 2 Peter 1:2.
Don't preach to me. What is rude is the near constant bigotry and nastiness that Catholics endure anytime a question comes up about our faith. It is beyond annoying to have a non-Catholic insist that their uninformed, prejudicial beliefs about my religion are facts, as if they know more about what we believe than we do.
I will preach to you, for you need to hear the Word. Please go to confession today and receive absolution for your atrocious behavior here.

But she still is not 'the most important' icon or figure or whatever you meant to say.
Exactly. I am Catholic, and the thrust of.our mass this past Sunday was waiting for the birth of Christ, not Mary. We say thanks be to God and praise to you Lord Jesus Christ. We sang O Come O Come Emmanuel. Oddly enough, not one word about Mary other than to mention she was chosen as the mother of Christ as a poor peasant woman. The whole homily was about Jesus. We have one of our resident low information anti-Catholic bigots on here justifying their ignorance and hate with "Whatever.". Pathetic. Learn about something before you spout uninformed opinions.
