We live in the McKinley ES district but DS won't start until next year. On our block 1 mom commutes to DC, one mom commutes to DC and also teleworks 2 days/wk, one mom commutes to Maryland, one mom freelances and works from home, one works part-time on various contracts, and 2 are SAH moms. And, although we aren't there yet, I have a reverse commute into the suburbs.
Why are you ony talking about what the moms do?
Because I don't have nearly as good of an idea regarding what the dads do. To my knowledge, none stay at home though.
Well sure, but this was a question about commuting, and you answered talking about what the mommies do. Which was kind of weird.
^^Defensive much? I would hazard to guess that the vast majority of posters on DCUM are MOMS! Not weird to offer what moms do re: work and commuting. I work in Maryland - I find that the commute is not bad because I am going against traffic. The Amer. Legion bridge in the morning is a parking lot going from MD into VA, but this is not my experience with VA into MD. I then take back roads in the evening to avoid 495 til Amer Legion.
