Public schools from California to Florida are celebrating LGBT History Month, where they highlight a homosexual or lesbian each day. http://www.charismanews.com/us/41256-public-schools-celebrating-lgbt-history-month What (if anything) is your DC's private school doing to celebrating LGBT History Month?
http://inamerica.blogs.cnn.com/2012/10/08/two-school-districts-recognize-lgbt-month/?hpt=us_bn1 Why are gay pride parades held in June and not mid October?
The Stonewall riots occurred in June http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stonewall_riots For obvious reasons, June is not an ideal "school" month to devote to LGBT celebration. Now that celebrating Columbus is frowned upon, October is a good month.
